What is environmental engineering?

Environmental engineering is about improving the conditions in buildings and reducing the amount of energy used in buildings, nearly 50% of all energy produced. Our modern society demands comfort at work, at home, at play; whether it is the level of the lighting or the quality of the acoustics - environmental engineers are there to improve life.

Energy reduction through intelligent design decisions can significantly reduce energy usage. Or energy generation through renewable sources for heating or cooling can be used on large or small scale to help countries reduce CO2 emissions. Improved refrigerants can help alleviate climate change by reducing CFC in to the environment.

Environmental engineering applies our knowledge of maths and science (chemistry and physics) but it is not about science labs and white coats!
