Entry requirements: GCSE: 5 including Maths; PLUS Vocational & GCE A levels: 120 points in relevant subjects; OR Edexcel/BTEC National Diploma or Certificate with 5 merits at level 3 including Maths; OR HNC in Engineering/Technology with electronic, electrical or software componments. NB: Mature students without these qualifications may be considered where appropriate experience has been gained.

This course, accredited by the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Chartered Institute for Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) aims to produce Electrical Engineering graduates who can become Chartered Engineers (CEng). On completion of the 24 units of the course you will be able to apply engineering knowledge and analysis techniques to identify and formulate solutions to engineering problems.

Year 1 LEVEL 1 UNITS: Maths, Electrical Circuits, Electrical Systems Fundamentals, Engineering Science & Materials, Electronics & Computing, Professional Studies.

Year 2 LEVEL 2 UNITS:Signals+System & Maths, Electrical Services, Electrical Energy Utilisation & Machines, Lighting+Acoustics & HVAC,  Control Systems Fundamentals, Interfacing & Instrumentation, Computing & Embedded Microprocessor, Professional Studies.

Year 3 LEVEL 3 UNITS: Building Contracts & Management, Design of Building Electrical Systems, Electrical Power Systems, Lighting Design & Control, Electrical Drives & Converters, Control Systems Applications, Major Electrical Services Project.
