Student Profiles
Salvador studied Telecommunications,
specialising in Acoustics in his final year. He joined us from Valencia,
helping Georgia with her PhD as a summer intern. He went on to be employed
by the Royal Academy of Music. He presented a paper based on his
dissertation at the Institute of Acoustics meeting in Reading, and attended
Acoustics 08 conference in Paris.
Linda studied Environmental Management and
previously worked at a charity. She helped the Acoustics Group establish the
rooftop wind turbine project. RBA consultants employed her half way through
the course. Linda presented a poster based on her dissertation at Acoustics
08 in Paris.
Phil studied Electrical and Electronic
Engineering and worked as a consultant for Bickerdike Allen Partners. He
presented a paper, based on his dissertation, at the Institute of Acoustics
meeting in Reading, and again in Paris. Now the paper has been published in
the Acoustics Bulletin.
Georgia studied classical piano and then
architecture in Greek. She combined her interests and investigated rehearsal
rooms for musicians. Georgia became a summer intern with the Royal Academy

Partnership. Georgia now studies for a PhD and lecturers part-time. Georgia
won the Acoustical Society of America best dissertation prize.
Christos studied Audio Engineering. His
dissertation was on computer modelling and auralisation. We offered him an
opportunity to undertake a PhD. He has developed new techniques to measure
room acoustic parameters using very low noise signals. Christos has lectured
on the Masters course and undertaken consultancy work for the London
Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Academy of Music
Louis studied Telecommunications in Madrid,
specialising in Acoustics in his final year. He worked for Dyson in their
Acoustics division in the UK before taking the Institute of Acoustics
Postgraduate Diploma. He joined the course and submitted a dissertation on
