Royal Academy of Music

For the last 3 years a Masters student has worked with the Royal Academy of Music on noise exposure of musicians, room acoustics, and currently noise monitoring.

Sound Research Laboratories

Sound research laboratories, a large noise and vibration consultancy, offers the opportunity of a placement at either the London or Sudbury offices to one student on the Masters course.

Capita Symonds

Capita Symonds is a very large engineering consultancy practice, with offices  located throughout the UK. They offer the opportunity of a placement to one of their London or Crawley offices to one student on the Masters Course.

Telent

Telent is a multi-disciplinary service provider, formerly Marconi, in the acoustics area they special in room acoustics and public address systems. Each year they offer a scholarship to one MSc student, followed by a summer placement. They are based on Docklands and Coventry.

JEM Safety

JEM Safety is a Health and Safety consultancy, the Acoustics Group links in through noise and vibration exposure. Each year Jem Safety offer an MSc student a placement. Recent project have included the Royal Academy of Music, Schools and Trinity College of Music.

Internships

The Acoustics Group offer one internship over the summer each year working on consultancy projects Recent contracts have been on audiometry for the Royal Academy of Music, dosimetry with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Wind Turbine monitoring of noise and vibration.
