MSc Environmental and Architectural Acoustics

 

Entry Qualification Honours Degree: in Science, Engineering, Maths.

Experience: Mature students without formal qualifications may be considered

Institute of Acoustics Diploma: Will exempt students from appropriate units:

Modes of Study 2 years part-time,  taken by Acoustic Consultants or Environmental Health Officers

1 year full-time, taken by students transferring to acoustics

 

Course Structure

 

The course is divided into 8 units, each unit is undertaken over a semester (15 weeks)

A unit is taken in the morning or afternoon and is usually broken into two parts:

Theory is delivered in the classroom backed up by a laboratory experiment.

Finally, a 4 unit project, usually researched based, is undertaken over the summer

Start Dates Semester 1:  commences 4th week of September

Semester 2: commences 1st week of February - more difficult for beginnings

Costs Full-Time: The 2008/9 price is £4075 (European) and £9035 (Overseas)

Part-Time: The 2008/9 price is £1745 (European) and £4165 (Overseas)

Scholarships A scholarship is available provided by telent plc, they 50% towards the fees
